Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need to do anything before you arrive? Not much. If your site is in controlled airspace I handle the FAA authorization through LAANC before the flight. Just let me know the site address and your preferred flight date and I'll take care of the rest.

What happens if weather cancels the flight? We reschedule — simple as that. Weather is part of the job and I won't fly in conditions that compromise safety or image quality. I'll reach out as early as possible if a flight needs to move.

-
How do I receive my deliverables? Photos, video, and maps are delivered digitally within 48 hours of the flight. No waiting on edited files for a week — you get what you need fast enough to actually use it.

-
What format are the deliverables in? Standard high-resolution formats your team can use immediately — JPG for photos, MP4 for video, and GeoTIFF or PDF for orthomosaic maps. If your engineers or project managers need a specific format, just ask.

How often should I schedule flights? Most construction clients start with weekly or bi-weekly flights. Some prefer milestone-based scheduling — foundation, framing, roof, completion. We'll figure out what makes sense for your project size and timeline.

Do you carry insurance? Yes. Full commercial liability insurance on every flight. If your GC or site owner requires a certificate of insurance before we fly, I can provide that.

-
How far do you travel? I serve job sites across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. If you're not sure whether your site falls within range, just reach out — chances are it does.

Can I use the footage for marketing? Absolutely. A lot of clients use progress photos and flyover video for investor updates, social media, and project showcases. Just let me know upfront and I'll make sure we capture what you need.
